According to the US government, Emma and Jacob were the most popular baby names in 2008. Picking out future baby names is so fun. I think it is especially easy for girl names. I LOVE
Alexis
Jaime
Taylor
Emma (although one of my girlfriend’s already claimed it for her girl)
With boy names, I find it more difficult to really LOVE a name. I don’t know why but it seems like there are so many average names and when the name is something “different”, it sounds weird.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite name for your future child?

Don’t feel bad. Even birds need to look good for others.

I’ve read articles that say Fergie, from the Black Eyed Peas, takes a shot of vinegar everyday to keep her body looking lean (not to mention the hours of dancing and cardio she does). Here is another article that shows the “power” of vinegar to help curb cravings.
Are you a believer?
Do you have any crazy diet tricks that work? Or are there any that you tried which didn’t work out to your advantage?
I have been sick with the flu and a cold (talk about double whammy!) for the past week. Being at home alone with no human interaction is one of the hardest parts of being sick (not to mention the obvious pain of being sick). So I was talking with one of my close girlfriends today and she mentioned that she just got sick this weekend with a fever. Her boyfriend being the doting, attentive person he is, offered to stay with her and comfort her. She refused because she wanted to be left alone to recover. So cue the fight.
Yesterday afternoon, the boy decides to leave me alone at home while he went to his friend’s house to watch the game. This did not bode well with me. He knew that I was miserable for the past six days at home without anyone to talk to or to take care of me. So when he got home, we had a talk about comfort. When I am sick, I like to be comforted and cared for. Even if I am napping, I like knowing that he is there for me. My girlfriend is completely the opposite.
What is your comfort style? Do you like to be left alone to your own devices when you are sick? or do you like to be comforted by your other half? Does your other half agree or disagree?
Since Sunday, I have been junking like a monster (sausages, chips, soda, instant noodles, ribs, etc). Basically I am thinking “to hell with my resolutions” but regret is seeping in. Hopefully I will be back on track starting NOW (I say this after eating my bagel slathered with butter.)
Here are some things I learned this week:
-tailgating is NOT for the weak (go big or go home). Our first tailgating experience was out an eye opener. Our grill was mini and dinky compared to other’s monster grills complete with their own entertainment set. How do people do this in the freezing weather?! I’d much rather stay in my warm house and watch the game up close.

-running out of eggs makes me sad
-spam is awesome but much more awesome with eggs
Wish me luck in my resolutions. I will start trying harder until my belly jelly is non-existant!
Any suggestions or tips you would like to share? or encouraging words? Lord knows I need it.

I have a secret and I am going to let you in on it, but don’t tell anyone… I am addicted to Weddingbee. No no no. I am not engaged or married. But somehow it became my guilty pleasure about half a year ago. This website is awesome because it’s so real. A bunch of girls (and boys) have come together to give you a glimpse of their lives and more interestingly of their wedding plans.
Do you have any secret sites that you do not want anyone to know about?

Lately, I’ve had a real pang for parenthood. Why? I don’t know. Maybe I’m hitting that age where engagements, proposals, weddings, marriages, and kids begin to appear at every corner. Regardless of the reason, I came across this site from a friend’s recommendation:
MetroDad
It is simply a blog about fatherhood. He is a pretty entertaining writer and most importantly, he is honest. Just read a few of his entries and you’ll start to appreciate how life-changing it is to have kids.

With the new year comes new goals. My goals are basically the same as anyone else’s. Lose weight, get toned, eat healthy, and take more pictures in 2010.
Here is how I am going to tackle these seeming impossible goals:
1. try to cook at home as much as possible (this will not only cut down on extra calories from pizza and other junk, but it will also save me some money)
2. work out at least three times a week (yes yes yes, this seems to be an impossible goal but I am going to try my hardest) If I can’t make the gym, I will do my 30 day shred at home. Anything is better than nothing right?
3. eat at least 2 fresh fruits every day (this should help with my weight loss and healthy eating)
4. carry my camera wherever I go (sometimes taking pictures can be a chore so if I carry my camera around, this should make it easier to capture that perfect moment)
If I ever fall off the boat (which I am sure I will), I MUST try to not let it get me down and keep on trucking. Because life is all about picking up the pieces and trying to solve this puzzle we call life…
Do you have any goals? If so, what strategies do you use to work towards them?

This may help with your goals. Try to keep them specific to add some staying power.
